Fire damages business in Richmond’s Northside
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A fire blazed from a building that houses one or more businesses in the southern area of Highland Park in Richmond's Northside Sunday morning. At 2:06 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, responders with the Richmond Department of Fire and EMS were dispatched for a building fire, which was originally at 1809 3rd Avenue. When responders arrived, however, the fire was found at a building that houses 1401 through 1409 Chestnut Street, including Chestnut Tobacco and Vape. The fire was later placed under control at 6:34 a.m. on Sunday, and the case was closed at 1:42 p.m. No injuries were reported. Damage can be seen to the exterior of the building, though officials have not yet confirmed the extent of the damage.
