Firefighters battle HVAC fire at Chesterfield home amid snowstorm
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County firefighters battled an HVAC fire that spread to a home's crawl space Monday evening amid the second snowfall of the season.
Just before 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, firefighters with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 5600 block of Benika Drive for report of a house fire.
When they arrived, crews found smoke coming from a home. Once inside, they found that the fire had stared in the home's HVAC unit and had spread into the crawl space.

The fire was put out within half an hour. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Chesterfield first responders have been busy with this incident and many others during the second snowstorm of the season.
State troopers see nearly 300 crashes across Virginia during snowstorm
Fire and EMS have responded to the scenes of two dozen crashes as of Monday evening, with the majority of said crashes taking place after 1 p.m., per officials.
