Richmond drug trafficker, ‘career offender’ gets 20-year sentence
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Richmond drug trafficker and "career offender" will serve two decades in prison after federal officials say he was found with "numerous tablets containing methamphetamine."
On Wednesday, April 8, 40-year-old Montrio Santos Neville was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
Neville was initially arrested on Oct. 9, 2024, by officers who were searching for a person wanted out of Chesterfield County. Per court documents, Neville was with that person when officers found them in Richmond's Gilpin Court.
"When the pair was detained, an officer searched Neville and recovered a firearm, 6.8750 grams of 97% pure methamphetamine powder, and numerous tablets containing methamphetamine," the DOJ said.
