First eight artists announced for Richmond Folk Festival

RICHMOND, Va. -- Venture Richmond has announced the first eight artists taking the stage for the Richmond Folk Festival, which will take place in the fall.

On Tuesday, June 10, Venture Richmond announced that the Richmond Folk Festival will take place from Oct. 10 through the 12 on the Downtown Richmond riverfront, spanning from 2nd to 7th streets, and from Byrd Street to the James River.

According to a spokesperson for the event, the festival's site will be slightly modified to adjust for the "many additions to the landscape of Downtown's riverfront," with a site map to be available on the festival's website soon.

"Downtown Richmond's riverfront continues to experience exciting changes, in part due to its popularity from the many remarkable events over the past several years," said Stephen Lecky, director of events at Venture Richmond.

According to Venture Richmond, the festival will take place over three days, spanning six stages and will showcase over 30 genres of music.

The first eight of 30 artists announced are:
