Founding Fathers actors to be interviewed at Scotchtown
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Scotchtown Museum in Hanover County will host a special history event to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Patrick Henry's famous "Liberty or Death" speech on Saturday.
The full event will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, and is located at 16120 Chiswell Lane in Beaverdam.
According to Scotchtown's website, the house is Henry's only original standing home. He was known as the orator of the American Revolution. The website said Henry lived there in the 1770s and conceived his “Liberty or Death” speech, which urged Americans to prepare for the battles of Lexington and Concord -- a war he saw as inevitable -- just four weeks before it started.
Scotchtown's public program includes actors portraying the Founding Fathers being interviewed on-stage, as well as their Patrick Henry actor mounting a horse and riding down the lengthy driveway at Scotchtown, according to the Preservation Virginia.
