Free exercise classes for those with Parkinson’s coming to Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Those with Parkinson's Disease can now take part in free exercise classes in Chesterfield County as the program expands. Power Over Parkinson's (POP), which already hosts an exercise program in Henrico County, will now offer that program two days a week in Chesterfield. These classes are free to those with Parkinson's Disease and their care partners. According to a POP press release, exercising regularly can help with managing the symptoms of Parkison's Disease. "We knew there was a need for additional Parkinson’s resources in Chesterfield County and we are proud to now be in a position to expand our offerings into this underserved area," said POP's president, Margaret Preston, in the release. There will also be include introductory elements of the HEAT program. Additionally, a Parkinson's Dance program will be launched in Chesterfield, according to the release.
