Free summer meals return for kids in Louisa County
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Louisa County Public Schools' Community Meals Program is returning this summer, offering free meals to children in the county.
Beginning Monday, June 9 through Thursday, July 24, the Community Meals Program will kick off in Louisa County, offering children between the ages of two and 18 free meals at 11 different sites within the county.
According to Louisa County Public Schools' Facebook post, the meals are free on a first-come, first-served basis.
Community Cafe Sites -- Monday through Thursdays
- Mineral Trailer Park, located at 300 Zachary Taylor Highway -- from 11 to 11:15 a.m.
- Louisa Arts Center Park, located at 212 Fredericksburg Ave. -- from 11:20 to 11:50 a.m.
- Lake Anna Food Lion, located at 11010 Kentucky Springs Road -- from 11:30 to 11:50 a.m.
- Trevilians Elementary School, located at 2035 S. Spotswood Trail -- from 12:05 to 12:25 p.m.
- Six-O-Five Village, located at Willis Proffitt Road -- from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.
- Countryside Subdivision, located at Countryside Road -- from 12:35 to 1 p.m.
- Louisa County Public Library, located at 881 Davis Highway -- from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
- Jouett Square Apartments, located at 301 Lyde Ave. -- from 1:10 to 1:30 p.m.
- Betty Queen Center -- 522 Industrial Park Drive -- from 1:40 to 2 p.m.
7-Day Meal Curbside Sites -- Thursdays only
- Jouett Elementary School, located at 315 Jouett School Road -- 12:45 to 1:15 p.m.
- Moss-Nuckols Elementary School, located at 2055 Courthouse Road -- 12:45 to 1:15 p.m.
The school division confirmed that weekend meals are provided on Thursdays at all of the sites, except the Betty Queen Center. All of the sites will be temporarily closed on Thursday, June 19.
