Free Thanksgiving feast returning to Richmond for 20th year

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Those in need of a warm meal and community can enjoy a free Thanksgiving feast in Richmond on Thursday.

The 20th-annual Giving Heart's Thanksgiving Day Feast will be served starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. This event is free and open to the public.

In addition to a warm Thanksgiving meal and good company, attendees will get access to various support services, as well as flu shots, clothing, toiletries and non-perishable essentials.

Doors will open an hour early at 10 a.m., per organizers. Attendees are asked to either enter at the corner of 5th and Marshall streets or through the 3rd-level entrance of the parking deck.

This event is made possible through the generosity of volunteers and donors, organizers said.
