Gas leak shut down Henrico roadways

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple Henrico County roadways were shut down Monday afternoon due to a gas leak.

At about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, the Henrico County divisions of Police and Fire announced that they were in the 11900 block of Shire Walk Lane for an active gas leak.

Shire Walk Lane was shut down in both directions as work is done to repair the leak. Southbound John Rolfe Parkway between Pump Road and Glen Eagles Drive was also closed.

Later, police provided an update, saying that the roadways had been reopened and the scene had been handed over to the utility company.
