Green Street to close in Amelia for pipe replacement

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Green Street in Amelia County will be closed at the end of May for a pipe replacement project.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced in a release that Green Street near Eggleston Street in Amelia Court House will be closed on Thursday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
VDOT said that homeowners will still have access to their property throughout the pipe replacement project, but offered motorists the following detours:
- Northbound traffic -- Head west on Dunn Street, south on North Five Forks Road, east on Eggleston Street and north on Green Street.
- Southbound traffic -- Head west on Eggleston Street, north on North Five Forks Road, east on Dunn Street and south on Green Street.
