Hanover County Fire and EMS respond to house fire in Mechanicsville

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County Fire and EMS responded to a fire at a single-family home in the county's Mechanicsville area Tuesday morning.
At 11:08 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, Hanover County firefighters were called to the 8200 block of Greenview Road by a caller in the neighborhood who reported that they saw smoke coming from their neighbor's home.
According to the fire department, when the crews arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the attic of the home. The fire was marked under control shortly after fire crews arrived.
There were no injuries reported, but firefighters evacuated a cat from the home.
