Hanover County’s Fire Station 7 to temporarily relocate for renovations

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County's Fire Station 7 is temporarily relocating while the station undergoes renovations.

On Sunday, June 1, Hanover County's Fire Station 7, located in Mechanicsville near the Route 360 and Interstate 295 intersection, will be temporarily closed for renovations to enhance the facility and working conditions for the firefighters.

“Hanover-Fire EMS is committed to delivering exceptional service to our community,” said Hanover County Fire-EMS Chief Christopher J. Anderson. “We anticipate minimal disruption to service during the renovation and remain fully prepared to respond to emergencies.”

During this time, the fire crew at Station 7 will operate from Fire Station 17, located on Laurel Meadow School Road, which is about four miles away.

According to the county, there will also be an ambulance in downtown Mechanicsville during peak times to ensure proper emergency response coverage.

“These renovations will ensure our staff have the resources and environment necessary to perform at their highest level,” Anderson said.

Station 7's new upgrades are expected to bring individual dorms, an enhanced office area, as well as training and fitness spaces.
