House fire breaks out while Chesterfield homeowner was asleep, fire alarm sounds and firefighters respond
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Three people are displaced after a fire broke out at a home in Chesterfield County early Wednesday morning.
At 1:19 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, Chesterfield County Fire and EMS crews responded to a call for a fire in the 4800 block of Pawpans Court.
Firefighters arrived and saw smoke coming from one corner of the home and a fire inside, according to officials. The fire was marked under control within 20 minutes.
According to Chesterfield Fire and EMS, the homeowner was asleep when the fire started in her room. A working smoke detector went off, which caused her to wake up.

There were no injuries. Three adults are displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
