Inmate dies at Richmond City Justice Center

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- An inmate has died at the Richmond City Justice Center on Monday, according to authorities.
On Tuesday, June 3, the Richmond City Sheriff's Office reported that an inmate had died on Monday, June 2.
Officials said the cause of the inmate's death is unknown and will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
According to the sheriff's office, the name of the inmate and details of the incident "will not be disclosed," per policy.
The Richmond City Sheriff's Office and Richmond Police Department are investigating.
"All protocols of the Richmond City Sheriff’s Office, Board of Local Jails and Prisons, and the Department of Corrections are being followed as required," the sheriff's office said in a release.
