Investigation continues into parking lot shooting in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- On Sunday evening, Henrico County Police responded to reports of a shooting outside of a parking lot of a business near Montrose Elementary.

According to police, the shooting occurred at 8:36 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, and once at the scene officers said they found a large crowd however, began to secure the scene.

Officers then found an adult man suffering from what appeared to be "non-life-threatening gunshot wound," and the victim was treated on the scene by Henrico Fire.

After the incident, police said they were able to locate the suspect a few miles away and conduct a traffic stop, officers then made an arrest and identified the suspect as 20-year-old Damion Latrey Khaalig, of Henrico.
