Kroger to break ground on new store in Mechanicsville
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A new Kroger store is coming to Mechanicsville, with plans to break ground scheduled for this Thursday.
Kroger's Mid-Atlantic Division has announced that they'll be breaking ground on the new store on Thursday, May 15, starting at 8 a.m. -- hoping to bring around 300 new jobs and expanded services to the area.
A spokesperson said that this will be a $40 million, 123,000 square-foot Kroger Marketplace, and will feature a Starbucks, apparel section , fuel center and more.
As of the time of reporting, the new Kroger location is set to open in early 2026.
