Library of Virginia to host book talks on Revolutionary-era history
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Library of Virginia will host two free book talks this summer on Revolution-era history, followed by book signings.
Both free talks come as part of the library's programming in commemoration of Virginia's role in the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Author and journalist Andrew Lawler will discuss his latest book, "A Perfect Frenzy: A Royal Governor, His Black Allies, and the Crisis that Spurred the American Revolution," from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 12. Registration is required.
Lawler's book explores the history of the early American Revolution in Virginia with a focus on Lord Dunmore, the colony's royal governor.
The event reportedly marks the 250th anniversary of Lord Dunmore's abandonment of the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg.

In addition, author Alan Pell Crawford will discuss his latest book, "This Fierce People: The Untold Story of America’s Revolutionary War in the South," from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9. Registration is required.
Crawford's book examines the aspect of America's Revolutionary War that was fought in the South, including how the British surrender at Yorktown was the direct result of the southern campaign.
