Local nonprofit Cadence to host Summer in the City benefit event
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from two special guests on Monday to talk about the upcoming Summer in the City benefit event for the local nonprofit Cadence.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Laine Satterfield, director of education for Cadence, and Lauren Leinhass-Cook, co-chair of the Summer in the City fundraiser, to talk about what people can expect at the event.
Cadence is a local nonprofit that offers film programs, theater programs and educational programs for people of all ages. The proceeds from Summer in the City will go towards supporting these programs, especially those that are offered to local schools.
"It's just going to be a lot of fun, we have so many auction items," Leinhass-Cook said. "We have overnight stays, and restaurants -- we have wellness experiences, original artwork -- just so many things."
Summer in the City will take place on Tuesday, June 17 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery sporting a 60s and 70s theme with music, food, dance contests and more.
