Man arrested in connection to armed robbery near VCU campus

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery that took place near the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) campus last month. According to VCU Police, detectives arrested 22-year-old Lorenzo Q. Walker on Monday, Jan 13 in connection to an armed robbery that took place at a parking deck in the 1300 block of W. Broad St. on Dec. 8. Walker is currently charged with, as stated by police, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony -- although there may be additional charges pending. The warrant for Walker was acquired by detectives on Dec. 16. He was then stopped for a traffic violation by Prince George Police on Jan. 13 and subsequently taken into custody, according to police. Walker is currently being held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond. The robbery involved Walker and another suspect following three people into a parking garage, brandishing guns and eventually taking three cell phones, two wallets and a drawstring bag that contained a handgun. According to VCU Police, detectives arrested 22-year-old Lorenzo Q. Walker on Monday, Jan 13 in connection to an armed robbery that took place at a parking deck in the 1300 block of W. Broad St. on Dec. 8.

Walker is currently charged with, as stated by police, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony -- although there may be additional charges pending.

The warrant for Walker was acquired by detectives on Dec. 16. He was then stopped for a traffic violation by Prince George Police on Jan. 13 and subsequently taken into custody, according to police.
