Man wanted after 23-year-old shot, killed in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Petersburg Police is searching for a man accused of shooting and killing a 23-year-old man in early June.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 3, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police were called to the 2300 block of Navajo Court for report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found an unidentified 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound. At the time, police said his injuries were life-threatening.

On Friday, June 27, police provided an update on this case, saying that this shooting was deadly.

T'Assir Kobi Scott, pictured below, is wanted in connection with this homicide investigation.

He is described as a 5-foot-10-inch-tall man with brown eyes and black hair. Police said he weighs about 185 pounds.
