Market Day aims to support young, Black entrepreneurs

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A nonprofit organization aimed at empowering self-identifying Black girls in Central Virginia is inviting residents to an All-Girl Centered Annual Market Day on Friday.

The organization, Girls For A Change, seeks to prepare Black girls for the world as they showcase their ideas, creativity and businesses during the free event.

The event will include food trucks, live entertainment, Shop Camp Diva participant booths and Meet the Girls For A Change team. It will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24, at 100 Buford Road in North Chesterfield.

Camp Diva Market Day showcases the drive of the next generation of entrepreneurs, and Black girls participate in the Camp Diva Leadership Academy, with handmade products, art and baked goods.

"This isn't just a marketplace," a release reads. "It's a powerful learning experience in action. Your presence helps provide hands-on, real-world learning experiences and entrepreneurial opportunities for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
