Mecklenburg County Public School Bus involved in head-on crash in town of Chase City

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Mecklenburg County Public School bus was involved in a head-on crash in the town of Chase City Wednesday morning. According to a spokesperson for the Mecklenburg County Public School's transportation department, the crash happened before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21. The school bus was driving on Main Street in the town of Chase City in Mecklenburg County when it was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle. At the time, the spokesperson said the bus was on the way to drop off students at a middle and highs school located in the same complex. Two students were on the bus at the time, who were then checked out in a local hospital. Both students had no injuries and were wearing seatbelts at the time. The spokesperson said the driver of the school bus and a bus monitor both had minor injuries. No charges have been placed in connection to the crash. 8News has reached out to the town of Chase City Police Department and is waiting for additional information.
