Nearly $100,000 in drugs, firearms seized by Buckingham deputies
BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Nearly $100,000 in firearms and illegal drugs -- including fentanyl and methamphetamine -- were seized by the Buckingham County Sheriff's Office over the course of a week. The search began on Friday, Jan. 17, after a search warrant was carried out by deputies in the 1000 block of Ca Ira Road. They seized almost 3.3 pounds of marijuana and two firearms. On Thursday, Jan. 23, more search warrants were carried out at three different locations: the 600 block of Hundley Branch Road, the 7000 block of South Constitution Route and the 1000 block of Axtell Road. On Hundley Branch Road, deputies found 1.5 pounds of meth, over 500 pressed fentanyl pills and seven firearms, as well as an undisclosed amount of fentanyl powder, cocaine and marijuana. However, nothing was found on Axtell Road. On Jan. 24, the final search warrant was executed on Johnson Station Road. Deputies took several ounces of cocaine, two firearms, three pounds of meth, $26,000 and approximately 3 pounds of meth. Authorities said the total street value of all items seized is close to $100,000.
