New Wawa to open in Henrico’s Sandston area

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A brand-new Wawa gas station will open in Henrico County on Thursday.

Starting at 7:55 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, officials will host grand opening festivities at Henrico's newest Wawa, located at 2011 Orange Blossom Ln. in the Sandston area.

The store's doors will open for the first time at 8 a.m. sharp and the first 100 customers will receive Wawa t-shirts, while supplies last. A brief opening ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m., with officials set to cut the ribbon and celebrate the new store's team.

"The program includes a ribbon-cutting with local officials and a 'Hoagies for Heroes' hoagie-building competition between first responders benefitting local charities," Wawa said.

The new location will also offer free hot coffees of any size to customers who visit between opening day and Sunday, Dec. 7.
