No Limit Towing owner faces three new charges of forgery, issuing bad check and grand larceny following towing scandal
CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Sherral Crawley, the owner of No Limit Towing, is facing three new charges for incidents that reportedly happened in 2024 and 2025 after she pleaded guilty to multiple charges for stealing cars and money from citizens over several years.
According to court records, Crawley now faces one count of forgery in connection to an incident on Oct. 1 of 2024, one count of issuing a bad check for an incident that allegedly occurred on Feb. 21, 2025, and one count of grand larceny for an incident that reportedly occurred on May 1, 2025.
A hearing is slated for Crawley for these three charges at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, in Caroline General District Court.
These charges follow a plea hearing in Richmond City Circuit Court on May 23, during which Crawley pleaded guilty to eight out of 23 charges in connection with stealing money and vehicles from Richmonders through her towing business:
- One count of grand larceny of a motor vehicle
- Two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses
- One count of obtaining money by false pretenses, less than $1000
- Three counts of title registration fraud
- One count of petit larceny of less than $200, not from a person
A status hearing is slated for Crawley on Sept. 5 for those 23 charges.
The investigation into Sherral Crawley and her towing business began in December 2022, with the Richmond Police Department looking into claims that vehicles were being towed from unauthorized areas and customers were being overcharged.
When serving a search warrant on her business in 2023, police expanded on these allegations, stating that vehicles were being taken from private lots, then demolished or sold in violation of state law. “Dozens of residents” were reportedly impacted. Crawley turned herself in to the department a few days after that search.
