Join Norfolk Arts as we welcome Chesapeake, VA based visual artist, Samantha Hand for her solo exhibition "Veneer". A defining drive in Samantha's art is to seek out discarded materials and reimagine them in unconventional ways. In this body of work, wood veneer and textiles from thrifted clothing are combined to explore how we construct and present our identities to the world. Just as we apply veneer to alter a surface, or select clothing to project a personal image, "Veneer" explores how our choices reveal or obscure inner complexities.
