One of Maymont’s horses, Dani, dies at age 30

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- One of Maymont's beloved farm animals, Dani the horse, died on Tuesday at age 30. According to Maymont, Dani was a Clydesdale/Hackney mix who had been treated for a year for age-related conditions, including arthritis and a pituitary dysfunction. Maymont said the horse's long-time veterinarian determined that her symptoms were becoming more pronounced and she was humanely euthanized in the morning on Tuesday, Jan. 14. "Prior to that, Dani had used her great strength to delight guests with carriage rides on special occasions."
