One person hospitalized after electrical fire in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person is in the hospital after an electrical fire in a Chesterfield County home on Wednesday.

Just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, crews with Chesterfield Fire and EMS were called to the 2300 block of Sauna Court for a report of a house fire.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke in the home. They then found fire behind a washer-dryer unit in the utility room.

The flames were put out quickly.

One person was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, with officials saying they are going to be okay.

The fire is believed to have been electrical in nature, officials said.
