Parents charged with murder and child abuse in connection to death of five-month-old son
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two parents have been charged with murder and child abuse in connection to the death of their five-month-old son in August of 2024. Thirty-two-year-old Jamel Bryant and 27-year-old Heather Hohensee, both of Richmond, have both been charged with murder and child abuse. On Friday, Aug. 2, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 1000 block of German School Road for the report of an unresponsive child. When officers arrived, they found the parents' five-month-old son unresponsive in the apartment. He was taken to a local hospital where police said he was pronounced dead.
