Phase II of Jefferson Avenue Improvements Project in Richmond to begin in October
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The second phase of a project to bring several improvements to Jefferson Avenue in Richmond is slated to take place near the end of October. The Department of Public Works will begin Phase II of the Jefferson Avenue Improvements Project on Monday, Oct. 21, with work to occur on the north side of Jefferson Avenue, from Leigh Street to 25th Street. According to officials, some of the improvements in Phase II include: Removing and replacing curb and gutters Installing brick sidewalks Installing accessibility ramps Installing landscaping Improving drainage The department asks drivers to give workers in the area extra space and to slow down when orange cones are in place in work zones. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2025, weather permitting.
