PHOTOS: Collect-A-Con was the ultimate pop culture convention

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The ultimate pop culture convention came to the Greater Richmond Region this weekend.

The Collect-A-Con was held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 27.

The event showcases trading cards, anime and pop culture, including Pokémon and TCG cards, merchandise and pop culture items.

"I think it's about people who have the same hobby," Chris Nelson said. "This is the best of the best. This is all pretty serious vendors...if you want professional athlete equivalenc[y] of card vendors, [go to] Collect-A-Con."

The convention included panels, celebrities and special guests. On Saturday, the convention hosted four panels, including "Voicing Anime Icons" with guests Bryce Papenbrook, "Yu-Gi-Oh!" with Dan Green and Eric Stuart, "Sailor Moon " with Christina Vee and Cherami Leigh and "Naruto" with Maile Flanagan.

Throughout the weekend, the Collect-A-Con saw multiple celebrity guests and performances, such as Jason Paige, Sean Schemmel, Erica Schroeder, Charles Martinet and more.
