HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County's newly renovated Three Lakes Park & Nature Center had thousands of visitors during its reopening weekend.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, county officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the park's nature center -- located at 400 Sasiluta Drive -- to celebrate its reopening after it received a major $4.6 million upgrade.
The park and nature center are freshly outfitted with both new and enhanced play features, an outdoor education space and living exhibits featuring snakes, frogs, spiders and an eel, among other wildlife. Accessibility improvements have also been made.
According to the county, a total of 2,700 people visited during the weekend following the ceremony.
