PHOTOS: Van crashes into Chesterfield barbecue restaurant

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A van crashed into a Chesterfield County barbecue restaurant Wednesday afternoon, doing significant damage to the building.

Just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, first responders with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to a business in the area of 13800 Fribble Way for report of a car hitting a building.

A spokesperson for the Chesterfield County Police Department confirmed the involved business was a Q Barbeque restaurant.

When they arrived, crews found that a van had driven into the side of the restaurant. Photos from the scene show that it smashed a window and did heavy damage to the wall.

Police told 8News that the van was in the restaurant's parking lot when its driver accelerated into the building.
