Prince Edward convenience center getting an upgrade

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Prince Edward County convenience center is getting upgraded, with construction planned to run through the end of the year.

On Monday, July 28, the county announced that Worsham Convenience Center will be upgraded to improve service.

Construction is set to begin in August, weather permitting. The project is expected to be completed by January 2026.

While construction is ongoing, the county will have a temporary drop-off location available to residents at 18 County Shop Road. Bagged household trash, as well as paper and plastic recyclables, will be accepted here.

However, residents who want to dispose of any other material will need to do so at either another convenience center or the County Landfill.

"Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to provide a cleaner, safer, and more efficient facility for the community," officials said.
