Rams down Patriots, Shulga leads VCU to a 70-54 win
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Graduate guard Max Shulga's 22 points, along with a strong second-half play, propelled VCU to a 70-54 victory over George Mason, tying them for first place in the Atlantic 10.
Shulga shot 5-for-9 from the field, including 4-of-7 from the three-point range, and added five rebounds as well as two steals.
Trailing 24-23 at halftime, VCU surged ahead with a decisive 15-0 run, capped by a Jack Clark 3-pointer, establishing a 42-29 lead with 14:08. They maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
VCU's next game will be against Richmond at the Richmond Area Honda Dealers Capital City Classic on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. located at the Robins Center.
