Residents invited to discuss proposed residential development in Matoaca

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County's Matoaca district supervisor is hosting a town hall meeting about the proposed residential rezoning cases.

On Jan. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., Kevin Carroll, the Matoaca District Supervisor, will be hosting a town hall meeting to discuss the Pending Marlbank Farms residential rezoning case.

The meeting is scheduled to be hosted at the Matoaca Elementary School cafeteria and auditorium located at 20300 Halloway Ave.

This is a follow-up meeting of the original case application from the Dec. 1, 2025, meeting. The upcoming town hall meeting allows community members to learn more about the proposed rezoning and provide feedback.

Jeff Geiger and Emerson Companies, et al., have proposed rezoning the area to a single-urban residential area. As well as changes to the development requests and standards, in order to develop a residential neighborhood with 309 lots.

Members from the county’s Planning and Transportation departments, along with representatives from the School Board and Planning Commission, will be in attendance so that they may answer any questions and note community input.
