Richmond bakery and market ‘Taste of Brazil’ relocates
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond bakery, "Taste of Brazil," formerly located on East Main Street, has moved to a brand new location.
The eatery now has a 2,160-square-foot space at the Gayton Crossing shopping center in the city's West End neighborhood, at 9782 Gayton Road.
The Brazilian bakery and restaurant specializes in a range of items such as Brazilian-inspired breads, cakes, pastries, pizza, sandwiches, coffee and cold drinks, which also utilizes ingredients specific to the country.
Owner Lei Christina explained more about bringing Brazilian dishes to America and blending them together in a recent press release.

"American-style buttercream icing is never used in the bakery’s product but, instead, the concept uses white chocolate or milk chocolate ganache," she said. "Everything is made from scratch using fresh and locally-grown ingredients, which produces 'strong and distinct flavors and fluffier cakes.'"
As the bakery has continued to grow, the space needed to grow as well, which is part of the reason for this new location change.
According to the press release, "Taste of Brazil Restaurant & Bakery outgrew its former space and [Christina] was looking for a shopping center venue positioned closer to Richmond’s Brazilian community."
The larger space also allows for the bakery to prepare more items and serve more people, according to the press release.
