Richmond City Council to vote to have Main Street Station serve as Greyhound stop
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A vote to dedicate part of Main Street Station to serve Greyhound and its riders is on Richmond City Council's agenda for Tuesday, Nov. 12. If the ordinance is approved, it will create a "Non-Exclusive License Agreement" between Greyhound and the city which would give the company permission to use "a portion" of Main Street Station, located at 1500 East Main Street, "as a bus stop, passenger boarding, and waiting area." According to the ordinance, the passenger boarding and waiting area will be directly across East Main Street from the train station and the ticket vending machine will be inside the station. Greyhound has agreed to pay $14,640 per year to the city for use of the space if the ordinance is approved. More information about the ordinance can be found here.
