Richmond Falcon Cam returns for spring 2025 season
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Falcon Cam, a livestream following the breeding season of a peregrine falcon pair that nests in the city's downtown area, has returned for the spring 2025 season.
According to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, the Richmond Falcon Cam returned on Monday, March 10. The camera focuses on a nest box atop the 21st floor of the Riverfront Plaza's West Tower.
The department said peregrine falcons are monogamous, mating at a nest with the same partner until it dies or moves away.
The current pair is female 95/AK, with a silver band on its right leg, and male 59/BM, with a green band on its right leg. They have been nesting in the tower's site since 2021 and have raised four chicks each year since.
