Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority opens housing waitlist
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) has opened its waitlist for city residents who are in need of affordable housing.
The RRHA began accepting applications for its housing communities at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 10. The applications that are eventually selected will move to their waitlist.
Applications will be open to project-based vouchers as well as public housing for family communities. According to the RRHA, opening the waitlist is just one of many ways that the agency is trying to reduce the number of people in need of affordable housing throughout the city.
Select home sizes will range from one to five bedrooms. Project-based communities include homes at 3100 Purcell Road and the properties of Afton, Fulton, and Randolph which are managed by the Michaels group.
The RRHA public housing family communities include Fairfield, Gilpin, Hillside, Mosby, and Whitcomb. While the wait list opened on Monday morning, applications will be accepted through April 10.
