Still experiencing low water pressure? Henrico DPU wants to hear from you
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County is investigating reports of low water pressure countywide Thursday night.
Richmond's second water-related emergency of the year resulted in a boil water advisory being issued within the city on Tuesday, May 27. It was later lifted on Thursday, May 29.
While this incident did not impact neighboring localities like Henrico, Hanover and Chesterfield counties in nearly the same way as January's water crisis -- as they were able to disconnect from Richmond's water system rather quickly -- there have still been some ripple effects.
Henrico residents were warned of possible fluctuations in water pressure on Wednesday, May 28, as the county's Department of Public Utilities (DPU) worked to compensate for the loss of Richmond water.
Late Wednesday night, Henrico announced that it had reopened itself to Richmond's water system and that water pressure issues should resolve "over the next several hours."
However, as of Thursday, Henrico residents are continuing to report low water pressure.
The county said that, at this time, the cause of this drop in water pressure is not known -- meaning it's possible it could be unrelated to what happened in Richmond. Henrico DPU is actively investigating.
If you are experiencing low water pressure, Henrico DPU asks you to comment on this Facebook post. You should list your nearest cross streets in your comment to aid in their investigation.
