StormTracker 8: One more round of snow showers then the sun returns

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - We remain under a VIPIR Alert until early this afternoon as another round of snow showers will slide through Central Virginia possibly giving us a dusting to an inch of snow. Also, we are concerned about icy spots throughout secondary roads and your neighborhood streets as you head out this morning.

We will see some late day sunshine today and that will bring a little relief to the region, but it will be cold with highs in the lower 30s and wind chills in the 20s.

Clear skies will be with us tonight and it will be very cold with lows 15 to 20 across most of central Virginia and we could have some single digit or lower teen windchills by early Friday morning.

Friday will feature plenty of sunshine, but it will be a chilly day with highs near 40.

Saturday looks a little bit better with highs in the lower 40s under sunny skies.

Partly sunny skies will be with us for Sunday and Monday, and we will be a little bit better with highs in the upper 40s on Sunday and middle 50s by Monday.

A week weather system will approach the region on Tuesday and that'll bring us the chance of a few showers, but it will be mild with highs near 60.

Wednesday will also be a mild day with partly sunny skies and highs around 60.

Another chance of showers could move in by Thursday with highs near 55.
