StormTracker 8: Strong to severe storm threat diminishes overnight
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The strong to severe storm threat will be diminishing overnight Sunday night into Monday morning, that's great news after a very busy Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening across Central Virginia that saw several tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings issued.
Showers and storms will be ending altogether between Midnight and 2:00 a.m. tonight, and we are in for a muggy overnight with lows dipping down into the middle to upper 60s, under partly cloudy skies.
Monday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, with highs around 90 degrees and a possible shower late in the day.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies, with highs 80 to 85 degrees and scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms. Some of these storms on Tuesday afternoon and evening could be on the stronger side of things.
Wednesday and Thursday will both be dry with partly sunny to mostly sunny skies and continued warm to hot conditions.
Friday through early next week, bring continued warm conditions and afternoon chances for showers and storms every day.
Finally, the tropics are remaining nice and quiet for us the next 7 days.
