StormTracker 8: Strong to severe storms today

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Scattered strong to severe storms will be with us today before drier conditions return tomorrow. All types of severe weather possible as these storms move through so please have multiple ways to get watches and warnings.

It will be warm and muggy day with high temperatures near the middle 80s. Multiple rounds of storms are on the way today with all types of severe weather possible. The main threats today are damaging winds that could lead to power outages and quick heavy downpours which could lead to flooding issues. The risk of isolated hail is also with us this afternoon and evening with any of the stronger storms that develop. Although lower, we can't rule out a quick spin up tornado or 2.

A few lingering storms continue tonight before tapering off by midnight. Overnight lows drop into the mid to upper 60s.

We are trending much drier for Monday with just the small risk of a few isolated showers possible. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies.

Another round of scattered storms moves in on Tuesday with highs in the middle 80s. Wednesday through most of the day Friday looks much drier with mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will be in the low 90s Thursday and Friday.

Friday evening the risk of storms return with our next weather system approaching. The risk of showers and storms stays with us for next weekend.
