StormTracker8: A foggy start to Sunday; Light snow on Monday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Central Virginia is under a freezing fog advisory this morning until 9am. This means temperatures are at or below freezing and that fog droplets are able to instantly freeze to surfaces like cars or roads. Please drive carefully this morning as visibility is significantly reduced.

It is going to be a cool end to the weekend. Highs today will be in the mid 40s with mostly cloudy skies overhead.

Morning lows on Monday are going to be chilly in the upper 20s. Be sure to bundle up!

This next round of snowfall is around 7am Monday until around 4pm on Monday, with locations south of Interstate 64 seeing anywhere from a dusting to 1 inch of snowfall. Those who live close to or along the Virginia/North Carolina line could see a wintry mix or rain showers. Temperatures during the day Monday will remain cool in the mid 30s.

Tuesday highs will be in the upper 30s before we warm to much more seasonable temperatures on Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday will have temperatures near 50.

I am watching closely for another weather system that could move in Thursday night into Friday bringing us more rain showers. Chances are looking to be isolated at best.

The start of next weekend is looking to be dry. Saturday and Sunday will be chilly with highs in the 30s. Clouds on Sunday will clear giving us mostly sunny skies.
