StormTracker8: Clouds & showers from Imelda today and Tuesday
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – After a rainy Saturday, then a drier Sunday this past weekend across the 8 News Viewing area, we will see clouds and showers returning to the forecast for early this week. Plus, the latest on Tropical Storm Imelda. Details below.
Today’s forecast on Monday calls for increasing clouds throughout the morning, with isolated showers this morning and afternoon, then transitioning over to scattered showers this evening and overnight as moisture from Tropical Storm Imelda heads our way, plus this stalled out weather system over the region as well pumping in more clouds and showers to the state of Virginia. Highs in the upper 70s.
Monday night into Tuesday morning, calls for mostly cloudy skies overnight, with scattered showers throughout the night and mild temperatures, getting down to around 65 degrees.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, morning scattered showers and highs in the middle to upper 70s tomorrow afternoon.
Wednesday kicks off October, and we will see Imelda pushing well out to sea at this point, overall bringing Virginia minimal impacts this week, great news, and on Wednesday we will see mostly sunny skies, highs around 70 degrees, with the humidity levels dropping as a Canadian High Pressure from Eastern Canada starts to dominate the weather pattern for the rest of this week.
Thursday and Friday will both be partly sunny, with cool temperatures, only rising into the upper 60s to the lower 70s.
The upcoming weekend and next Monday are all looking fantastic, with mostly sunny to partly sunny skies, and temperatures slowly rising through the 70s, as another warning trend begins.
TRACKING THE TROPICS – Thankfully, Tropical Storm Imelda will not hit the Carolinas this week, like indications were showing that possibility just days ago. Also, Hurricane Humberto will push well into the open Atlantic Ocean this week.
