StormTracker8: Cold tonight; light snow potential Monday morning

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – All eyes are now on Monday, as our next weather system will come into the Mid-Atlantic Region and bring another round of light snowfall to Central Virginia. More on that below.

Tonight’s forecast for this Saturday night into Sunday morning, calls for gradual clearing skies from west to east and cold temperatures, getting down into the upper 20s. Any leftover snow from our Friday Winter Storm that is still melting out there will refreeze out there, and I can’t rule out isolated icy spots on Sunday morning, so please be careful in the morning when out and about traveling.

Tomorrow’s forecast for our Sunday, calls for increasing clouds once again, and continued chilly temperatures, rising into the middle 40s.

Tomorrow night into Monday morning, we will see our next weather system come into the region and bring another round of light snowfall by daybreak Monday.

The approximate timing of this next round of snowfall is around 7am Monday until around 4pm on Monday, with locations along and south of Interstate 64 seeing anywhere from a dusting to 2 inches of possible snowfall.

Aside from the light snow threat for Monday, it will be a very chilly day, with highs only rising into the middle 30s.

Tuesday will be another very chilly day, under partly sunny skies, and highs in the upper 30s.

Next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all look relatively quiet, aside from a low chance for showers next Thursday night through next Friday.

I put watching next Saturday due to our next weather system by then having lots of question marks right now. Finally, next Sunday, looks like another very chilly day.
