StormTracker8: Icy Roads this Morning; Showers this Afternoon

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Temperatures this morning are in the 20s. We are not as cold as yesterday morning, but we are below freezing. Black ice is likely across portions of Central Virginia, especially on bridges and secondary roads. Please stay cautious on roadways today.

We will finally see improvement this afternoon as temperatures climb well above freezing. Highs today will be in the mid 40s and skies will be cloudy. We could see a few spotty showers this afternoon, but most of us will stay dry.

Temperatures tonight will drop to near freezing. Highs tomorrow will be in the low 40s.

On Friday, it is possible that we see another round of winter precipitation, but right now, the showers look to be few and far between. A few flurries or wintry mix will be possible. As things stand, we are not expecting to see another round of multiple inches of snow. We will continue to monitor through the end of the week.

Saturday will be dry, but Sunday we have another chance for precipitation. It could be another instance of isolated showers or wintry mix.

The start of next week is forecast to be dry but cold, with highs in the 30s on Monday.
