StormTracker8: Two systems Friday & Saturday bring the risk of snow
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – There might be a passing shower this evening otherwise the clouds that we have across Central Virginia will give clear give way to clear skies throughout the overnight with lows near 32.
Mostly sunny to sunny skies will be with us for Thursday but it will be chilly with highs in the lower 40s.
An Alberta Clipper system, which is a fast-moving weather system with limited moisture, will approach the region during Friday. This will bring us the risk of some light snow or snow showers in the morning but as we gradually warm into the middle to upper 30s throughout the day that will change over to some rain showers.
Right now, we do not look to see much in the way of accumulation but some slick spots on roadways could be a factor for that morning commute into the early afternoon.
Saturday will be partly sunny and remain chilly with highs in the lower 40s.
Our next weather system will approach us for Sunday, and this will bring us another round of light snow that could possibly mix with some rain throughout the day. Right now, it is tough to tell if we will be looking at any accumulations as we are a little far out so we will keep watching that for you. Our high temperatures will top out again in the middle to upper 30s.
Behind that system it will turn downright cold for Sunday night and early Monday morning as we drop back into the middle to upper teens under clear skies.
Monday will be a very chilly day with highs in the lower 30s under sunny skies.
Looking ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday we will see sunny to partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 40s on Tuesday and upper 40s by Wednesday.
