Suspect sought in attempted check fraud at Chesterfield bank

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Officials are looking for a suspect who attempted to commit check fraud at a Chesterfield bank back in August.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, the check fraud attempt took place at the First Bank branch located at 200 Johnson Creek Drive.

The suspect, pictured below, is described as a white female, and reportedly entered the bank and provided a fake North Carolina ID that had her photo, but the victim's DMV information. She also had a stolen check for $7,200 that she tried to cash, officials said.

After being told the check would need time to clear, she left the bank in an unknown vehicle and direction, according to authorities.
